Remember that show, the Biggest Loser?

Hey, Matt Cook here, and if you’ve ever wondered why you can’t lose weight…
…you will freak out over this study from the Journal of the American Medical Association…
In this study, researchers studied more than 48,000 men and women between the ages of 40 and 64 who were trying to lose weight…
And almost all of the people in this study were trying to lose weight by eating less and moving more.
They were eating more fruits and vegetables, less sugar and sweets, and restricting calories…
And some were even trying to exercise more too.
But despite all this, the researchers noticed a startling trend…
…the people in this study were actually GAINING weight and putting on MORE fat by eating less and moving more.
They ate less. And gained fat.
They moved more. And gained fat.
WHAT?
This has shocked the science community so much that they are quickly writing rebuttals and editorials and saying why this can’t be true.
But it is true.
Remember that TV show, “The Biggest Loser”?
It featured very overweight people who would compete against each other to lose the most amount of weight.
Their food was strictly monitored and kept to less than 1,000 calories a day.
And they were forced to complete extreme workouts like hiking a mountain, climbing 100 flights of stairs, running 20 laps, etc. etc…
And whoever lost the most amount of weight at the end would win and be crowned the “Biggest Loser.”
Well as you’ve probably realized, this show isn’t on TV anymore…
And isn’t on TV anymore because, as one former contestant puts it, “We’re all fat again.”
That’s right — 13 of the 14 big losers who lost all that weight — hundreds and hundreds of pounds — well, they gained it all back as soon as they went home.
And some of them packed on even MORE weight.
Look at this graph showing what happened to the contestants’ metabolisms after going on the Biggest Loser:
13 out of 14 contestants regained all the weight they lost.
Four are even heavier now than before they started the competition.
And nearly all of them have slower metabolisms … they struggle to burn calories and power their bodies properly…
And now they suffer from some of the worst health problems imaginable.
“It’s a miracle no one has died yet,” says Dr. Ed Tyson who studied the show’s aftermath.
Now you may be saying, “Matt, those are extreme cases. I’m not so extreme. I’m 30 pounds overweight, not 300 pounds overweight. How does this apply to me?”
Well, that’s a fair point. Remember the first study I cited is for regular people, not people who are 300 pounds overweight.
But it’s not the only study that shows how “eat less, move more” is actually a recipe to GAIN fat….
There’s this explosive UCLA study dating all the way back to 2007…
…where researchers found that dieting does NOT work in helping people lose weight. In fact, dieting results in weight GAINS.
That’s right — dieting is NOT an effective method for weight loss and only causes weight to increase.
You may lose 5 to 10 pounds in the beginning of your diet… but then it will all come back and then some.
“Diets do not lead to sustained weight loss or health benefits for the majority of people,” the researchers conclude.
“Most people would be better off NOT going on the diet at all…
Their weight would be pretty much the same, and their bodies would not suffer the wear and tear from losing weight and gaining it back.”
So now do you see why you are not shedding the fat?
You are doing what everyone has been told to do for decades to lose weight….
And that’s the problem…
What everyone is telling you to do to lose weight is dead WRONG… but let’s really make sure this sinks in.
I realize what I’m showing you are facts, they are totally completely right, but they go SO far against what we hear from everyone all the time…
…that it’s difficult for anyone to accept the truth.
So…
Here’s another groundbreaking study you haven’t heard about yet, published in 2012…
In this study, researchers looked into the reason why Americans are so obese today compared to hunter-gatherer times…
Until now, the general consensus was that we don’t move as much as our ancestors, and that’s why we are so fat.
But this study debunks this belief BIG time…
Because the researchers found that the total energy output of humans today is almost identical to our ancestors…
Meaning we move just as much as they did. But still, we’re fat. They were thin.
And once again, we have scientific data that proves “eating less and moving more” isn’t a good way to lose weight…
And here’s one more thing I want to show you…
Look what happened to Jim Graham, American WWII veteran, who in 1944 participated in an extraordinary experiment in semi-starvation…
Jim and 35 others were human guinea pigs for an entire year, living together at the University of Minnesota.
They were fed no more than 1,500 calories a day and given specific exercises or workouts to complete for 6 months.
During that time, Jim and the others lost a lot of weight…
But the effects it had on their bodies… it forever changed them.
All of them, including Jim, were healthy and free of disease when they started…
But by the end, they were riddled with health problems.
And after the experiment, Jim never stopped feeling hungry.
No matter how much he ate, the hunger never went away.
He started carrying candy bars around in his pockets.
And naturally, he got fat.
In six months, Jim went from 122 pounds to 225 pounds…
And most of it was fat. He had completely depleted his muscle mass during the experiment.
For the next 3 years, no matter what Jim ate, he could not lose any weight.
He tried going back to a healthy diet, he tried eating less and moving more…
But his weight kept climbing, and he started suffering from health issues he didn’t have before the experiment.
And we know why, thanks to the 1,300 pages of scientific reports from the experiment…
Eating less and moving more doesn’t work.
It’s not an effective method for weight loss, and it is very bad for your body.
Yet decades later, we are still battling the same old misconceptions about weight loss…
And why is this? Well, I’ll tell you why…
The medical establishment has been lying to us…
Remember in the olden days, how fat people were rare?
Here is a historic photo taken in Los Angeles:
See anyone obese in this photo? Of course not.
And here is the same area today:
You can’t find anyone who is thin in this picture!
Think back to school days… In the old days, there maybe was one fat person in your class.
Today, everyone is fat, even the kids:
Go to the supermarket around 5PM on a weekday. Obese people everywhere…
You know why this is? It’s not their fault!
The truth is, the fatter and more unhealthy people get, the more Big Pharma profits…
It’s an insanely lucrative market treating obese people and prescribing them diet plans, nutritionists, surgeries, and yes — even those electric scooters.
All of that costs money, and money is the motive for the medical establishment.
They have no incentive to see us thin and healthy…
Because then there would be nobody to buy their treatments!
So why in the world are we listening to THEM when it comes to weight loss?
Right now, I’m going to show you why everything you’ve heard about weight loss is WRONG…
…why you haven’t been able to lose that extra belly fat, no matter how many diets you try or how many hours you spend in the gym…
I’m going to show you why you have metabolic problems, diabetes, heart disease, and prostate inflammation…
…and even why you’ve been having trouble with your erections…
Because all of this is connected…
And it all goes back to the one big lie we’ve all been told about losing weight…
“You should eat less and move more.”
You’ve probably heard it a million times…
Even doctors are saying it.
But it’s pretty vague, isn’t it?
How much less should you eat?
How much more should you move?
And on top of that, the bigger issue is that “eat less, move more” is rooted in outdated perceptions about weight loss.
Albert Einstein once said: “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.”
All of us keep eating less and moving more, hoping beyond hope to see that number drop on the scale…
…to feel our pants get a little looser…
…to look thinner in the next family photo…
But we know now that this doesn’t work… that eating less and moving more is FALSE…
So what DOES work for weight loss?
Here’s what I’ve found…
Warmly,
–Matt Cook
